A defender by trade
Clint Flippin is the principal attorney at Rogue Defender, a criminal-defense-only firm based in Medford, Oregon. Before founding Rogue Defender, he served as a Senior Deputy Defender with the Oregon Public Defense Commission (OPDC) — working on the defense side, representing people accused of crimes, and building the trial experience that defines his practice today.
That background is his core differentiator. He spent years in the trenches as a public defender, handling serious felonies, Measure 11 charges, and complex jury trials in Southern Oregon's courts. He knows how the system builds a case — and how to take it apart.

Exclusively criminal defense
Rogue Defender handles criminal defense and nothing else. The firm's entire practice is devoted to defending people charged with crimes in Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties. That focus means every dollar of overhead and every hour of preparation goes toward one discipline.
The firm's practice covers:
- DUII and traffic crimes — breath test challenges, implied-consent hearings, diversion
- Felony defense, including Measure 11 — mandatory-minimum person felonies requiring immediate, trial-ready preparation
- Drug charges — possession, manufacture, delivery, and suppression of unlawful searches
- Domestic violence — FAPA orders, no-contact strategy, and trial defense
- Assault and violent crimes — self-defense claims, witness investigation, expert testimony
- Expungement and record set-aside — clearing eligible Oregon convictions under ORS 137.225
How every case is prepared
Every matter — from a first-offense misdemeanor to a multi-count Measure 11 felony — gets the same approach: independent investigation, complete discovery review, and a realistic assessment of suppression and dismissal options before any resolution is discussed. Clint's years in public defense taught him that preparation is leverage, and that the state's file is never the complete picture.
He appears regularly in Jackson County Circuit Court (Medford), Josephine County Circuit Court (Grants Pass), Klamath County Circuit Court (Klamath Falls), and the municipal courts in Medford, Ashland, Central Point, and Grants Pass. Southern Oregon's courts are not a foreign jurisdiction to him — they are his practice.
